You’ll need to use a better lighting system, try using mathematical lighting, the expression being
Alpha = Brightness - (Distance/2)
Just put this in objects affected by the player and it will work

So I tried it and it doesn’t look great because the track pieces are 3x3 so it doesn’t have a nice fade, also the background is now out of place because it’s not darker. I added a block to test on the background and while the background now looks decent, the fps is dying from it

You could try an overlay but that would cause more lag. (ui layer using the lighting math)

I just tried it in combination with the previous Night Time overlay and it looks really good though, so I’ll do that.
It’s not a huge difference, and it might lower performance so I’ll add an option to toggle it off.
