August Silence - new updates coming soon!

If you want some super good and honest feedback, my recommendation is that you go to @Crigence. He has a post called “The Crigence Critique”.

My Review:

Difficulty: 4/5 (Not too easy, not too hard)
Gameplay: 4.5/5 (Very fun game)
Sound: 4/5 (Great sounds!)
Art: 5/5 (Are you DaVinci?!)
Controls: 3/5 (The space used for jump just threw the controls off)

Overall Score 8/10

Hope this helps!

should i exchange the wall jump for a double jump?
the double jump is more fun and less buggy (in my opinion)

  • yes

I (personally) preferred the wall jump since it felt more “realistic”, I suppose? Though something I think that could be there instead is a long/short jump, so when they is pressed for a longer time, you jump higher. JR probably made an example lol though when I tried to make one, it was eh

It’s more immersive, you’re not jumping on air, it’s at least a little more realistic.

the game already has something like that from the beggining. you hold down the space bar to jump higher. Are you saying I should have an upgrade that ups the max height?

hey F3, wanna help me make that game? maybe we should make a splatoon 2 octo expansion.

progress update

you can now access that planet I posted about a while ago.

you can visit it by colliding with a small shuttle in the control room, near the top left of the station.

(fyi there isn’t really much to do there yet, it’s just for fun at this point.)

what to work on next?

  • polish/bugfixes
  • story/atmosphere
  • finish optional side content

if you voted for polish/bugfixes, do you have any specific things that need fixing, besides what’s been said by crigence?

and hey look! 1k views!

Still working on this game, sorry. but If you have something really specific that you need help with, I could maybe give you hand.

I think that’s always what you should do first, in every situation. CDPR’s work with Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example. A beautiful game that we would love to see get more added onto it, but they decided to fix its flaws before moving on, which is the best decision overall. It makes those future projects (like side content and story add-ons) that much easier

I’m having a bug where the sounds for hitting the floor after jumping aren’t playing anymore. any Ideas for why this would happen? It should be in the run and jump bundle.
