It started at midnight for me…
Alright, I’m finally gonna attempt to start my game. Probably won’t be the best, or if I even finish the project, but I’ll sure try.
I saw the screenshots that extrez had posted on his game which included dialogue boxes. I had dialogue in games before, but never used a more organized box or ui display to make it neat. May experiment around with some different features that I don’t normally do.
Bro I’ve already come up with an idea for this!
I’m struggling to get one, btw, can we submit more than one game?
im done with the play button
Seeing that @Bmarzi did on the latest official Jam, I’m sure it’s allowed.
Why is everyone doing the menu first?
Because it’s the first part of the game. I’m used to doing it first.
I do it last, first i do the mechanics of the game, then I will do art and the menu later.
I try to work on the bare bones of a game before a menu. I know a menu, cutscenes, etc are used to make the game more polished, but I like to get the gameplay down before I know how to theme the rest of it. I don’t want to decorate a menu and I end up redoing most of the game or changing it to something way different than I initially thought of. So, I leave most of that until later on in the development.
So, my game isn’t a platformer, but, knowing how to, I thought I’d make some cool player. I can’t go with the ordinary top view, I have to… make it look even a bit 3D.
Now you know what I did.
Idk, ask @BradenS this
sure i’ll take a crack at it :)
Cool!
Welcome to the community!
Yeah, a year of indie is hardly ignorable.
just coming back but thank you :)

Will i lose points if I make a game similar to my rougelike?
