  • There’s now a tutorial block at the top that gives you dialogue and shows you how to select a path.
  • The actual code to choose a path is not done yet though

Bit Spire Devlog of the Day: OMG I’M ACTUALLY GAMEDEVVING

  • I (kinda?) got over my dev block
  • Code to choose a path now works, and you can press S to select the path while standing in the corresponding light
  • Your color will slowly change to the selected path, and then you will be teleported to the level (Presumably with your new abilities from the path you chose)
  • The code for the different path abilities is not done yet, but I’ll keep you guys updated.

Going to start posting on this topic again! I looked through the code of Bit Spire yesterday but decided to polish up my little game Bomber Boy to get back into flowgramming.

Bit Spire Devlog of the Day: I’m so hyped to be doing this again!

  • Decided that I’m going to focus on the AGILITY path for now!
  • Added visuals to the player object (a lot of JUICY squash & stretch!)
  • Polished up the gravity system

Going to consolidate these Bit Spire devlogs into weekly updates - daily updates are too much of a hassle to keep up with, and sometimes I might not get a lot done in one day.

So, to start:
:notes: Sound updates

  • Menu buttons now have toggle sounds
  • Main menu, Tutorial level, and AGI level now have music!

:blue_square: AGI updates

  • AGI level has a lighter background color
  • Dashing has been implemented! (J for left dash and K for right if you want to playtest)
  • Working on level design and a wider, more open map.
