Even if it was one made before any of the users here on the forums were born?

Yes. You can post masterpieces as an act of praise, but saying that you drew it is going too far.

Drawing spheres process – Jacob Tatman Artistries

Did you draw this just to prove a point?

I’m not sure if there would be reflected light on a planet, since the space around it is dark and devoid of any surface to reflect the light against. Maybe if there was a moon behind it of some sort.
In the example you have, it’s demonstrating a sphere on a solid plane, so the light is reflecting from the ground and the sphere is detecting that excess light from behind where the shadow is cast.
I do see what you mean though.

After seeing some images of planets, since space itself doesn’t reflect any light, planets are usually seen as crescents since it’s only visible on the side that’s being lit, and the darker side is almost invisible. Unless you plan to have a bright nova or many stars to form a colorful background, one side of the planet would seem almost invisible if there’s only one light source.

didn’t draw it found it online lol

It’s for a map screen, so I elected to have the planets be more visible. Definitely going to be stars or some other light source though.

If it’s for UI or a map like you said, then it would probably work best with the reflected light, so it gives it a better outline and easier to notice.

Callout for an Animator

I’m going to keep this short. I need the help of a skilled animator. I can’t seem to make a good walking animation.
Strange as it sounds, I’m asking for help with game art. I’ve never been really good at walking animations, and now one is required.
If you’re a skilled animator, or you know one, please notify me.

You’ll be credited in the game once it’s done.

Thanks,
-Ember.Y

Hmm… interesting. Would you mind if I tried to draw a version of this?

How is it strange that you are asking for help, everyone asks for help

Honestly, there are a lot of great run animation examples out there, its always better to learn than depend on someone especially since its a run animation, those are super useful

I’ve taken many classes on human drawing, and yet I can’t seem to even draw one running frame.

Well, I’m the creator of this topic, I normally take requests and make thr art.

No, I wouldn’t mind at all. I must say though, don’t copy the two black diamonds pattern, the diagonal rectangle front grille, or the double 0s pattern, because those are based on a Punishing: Gray Raven character because the car is a unique fanart I made of the game. Unless of course, you want to draw that too then its fine.

The default running sprite is a great reference. You can just open the Browse menu in the sprite editor and look at how its organized: player stands, player moves one leg forward and one leg backward while the arms go the opposite from that, player stands again, player moves other leg forward and backward and arms reverse of what they were in the 2nd frame.
