Quotes out of context are basically when someone says something really strange or out of pocket when it’s taken out of context, meaning it had taken place during a conversation.
Let’s say two people were debating something peacefully and someone says something that sounds rather odd by itself, but you just ignore over it when you read the entire conversation. So you basically quote only that specific post and it sounds strange by itself.
Another way is someone could have an entire essay and you only quote a specific sentence from the paragraph and it also sounds strange by itself.
The quote being strange would be it sounds funny or it’s something most people wouldn’t typically say normally. Although there are some people who speak only in “out of context quotes” sometimes. I know there’s a lot of conversations on the discord that get linked here where even with the context, it’s still strange, lol.
I can’t really think of an example off the top of my head, but if you look up to previous submissions, you’ll probably make better sense of it.

“Top of my head” is more of a common phrase back in the day so I don’t see it really being out of context, but I can see it being odd for the current age.

anyone who speaks english well knows that that phrase is “off the top of my head” which means that they are not deeply thinking just saying what first came to mind
