Flowlab Wiki ... Yes/No

Hiya all,

I’m playing with the idea of setting up a Wiki for Flowlab, as far as I know there is none yet. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Yes, I am aware that all needed info is already spread out here in the forums and that there are plenty examples in the games directory…
but … as said, spread out. And searching for something is not working so well.

So that’s why I thought a Wiki might be a good place to get things categorized, tagged, sorted.

A humble start can be found here:
http://flowlabing.wikidot.com/bundles:_home

That is for example the first draft of what the bundle section could look like.
Reminds me @PixelPizza, you mind if I add your Double Jump example? It is so well done

Other categories I’m not sure about yet, you notice that I threw a few more in there. Open for discussion, for sure. That’s why I put it out here

Another thing, if interest is there, the basic setup requires a lot of work. Anyone else on here who has experience with wiki management and wants to help out?

@grazer I imagine no concerns from your end?
Might help to promote flowlab a bit better.
And no worries, my royalty demands are very low MUAHAHAHA

I think this is great @TinkerSmith - no complaints from my end! I especially like the bundles section.

That does look cool.

Yes, do it!
I can try to help with information, but I’m not skilled using wikidot.

You can also use any of my examples. I see you have a Angle-To bundle and I have an example that shows the difference between Angle-To and Point-At

Sounds great! Feel free to use my example. Only request I have is for you to leave a link to the forum discussion so people can read the instructions

I actually tried to do something similar… Still on development:

My answer to this? Hell yes!

Looks like there is interest sigh, what did I get myself into now, lol.

@grazer the bundle section was my first ‘test subject’. At least Wikidot allows me to integrate Javascript, needed that for the bundle code ‘copy to clipboard’ button. I think that makes it really easy to grab the code and copy it into flowlab. If you have any other (free) wiki host in mind, please let me know. The free account only allows 300mb, might get tight once it fills up with images.

@“JR 01” thanks, for sure you were on my … hmmm, have to borrow from there … list
And, I am not a skilled Wikimolester myself. Took me ages to work out where wikidot changes the logo, LOL, but I did. Also, the other thing I like is that it allows to use template forms, that should give consistency with the layout. If you know your way around markdown, you are fine.
Sign up and try to add a new page to the Bundle section and let me know if the template makes sense.

@PixelPizza … you are also high on my ‘borrow from’ list, LOL. For sure everyone will get credits for the stuff I use. And the whole point of a wiki is, you should be able to add your own stuff.
Yep, I definitely will link back to the ‘Double Jump’ thread, was thinking of taking it as it is (copy&paste mayhem) and add it to either Examples or Tutorials. What would fit better?

@“The Kodex” I will fit you in somewhere too. You already put so much work into it  Either in the Link section, or I add a special link section to the Tutorial category, we will see what works best.

Again, that was just a quick ‘throw together’ and I’m learning wikidot myself. Please sign up there, have a snoop, try things out and give me feedback.

Layout improvements, additions, more categories, bugs, etc.
And again, any help appreciated.

P.S. I just notice, on the Bundle home page I should probably put instructions how to import the code into flowlab

@TinkerSmith Thank you! I appreciate it!

No worries @“The Kodex”
You are already added to the Link section

Ok @“JR 01” , I added your ‘Point at’ demo to the example section.

Still playing around with the layout for that category, so that I can make a template for that one too.

So yours I put into a single page layout, my Car AI one into a tabbed one.
Have a look and let me know what you think. I’d prefer a ‘one for all’ layout, because a fixed template would force consistency once others (hopefully) also start adding stuff.
