I’ve gaven this opinion of mine to many people: Don’t code a game based on what the people want, code it based on what you want to play, and what you want to make at the same time. It makes the process much more fun.

Make something you want to play, don’t just ask people for ideas. No one in a community of experienced coders wants to give out their ideas.
