There’s more people than you think on here
I know. Somewhere around 150k (I think) Less on the Forums though. So many on this topic that I can’t see my replies on the first post.
20k students.
Near 200 on discord.
Mebslime was the creator of the idea, but I guess the 3 Musketeers, which was Mebslime, AbstractGallery, and Myself were probably considered Co-Founders of the original discussion. Only because we all supported and defended the otc through various debates and conflicts and here it is, standing strong.
We ended up earning the community lounge category.
I do see how an off-topic forum could cause trouble and need defending at times, lol
I do have to admit, I’m still learning German. I know there are different dialects too and everything, so if some of that sounded a little broken that’s why, just letting you know! I mean, everyone starts somewhere, right?
(P.S. A few of the words you were saying I didn’t quite understand, so I used google translate to make sure I actually knew what you were saying, and while I had a good idea, I just wanted to make sure, lol.)
There were past users who hated the idea of the off topic channel because they believed it shouldn’t belong on the forums.
Although I somewhat agreed when posts were being spammed on their discussions and at one point there was like 6 or more off topic channels at once.
So we had most of them abandoned and we stuck with ol faithful.
Another reason they didn’t like the idea was many arguments had happened in the channel and caused many posts to get flagged and we had the discussion closed for months on end because it was flagged to many times.
I can’t necessarily say the arguments were the off topic channels fault as we had some users with self centered behaviors that caused a lot of conflict. Plus Mebslime wasn’t a very liked person from the old gen users. I would go further on this, but it’s probably not my place.
Anyway, I supported the idea of the otc because having a channel where users could freely discuss their day and post memes would theoretically prevent users from spamming on users game discussions. Which worked for a while until grazer created the community lounge category. Now there’s like over 10 different off topic channels such as Legos, Otc, Backup Otc, flowlab memes (which evolved away from flowlab) and many others.
Although many of the old gen users moved either to the discord or left flowlab entirely over the years and now it’s been mostly younger users who don’t pay mind to the otc or the harm it can apparently do (like how the previous have seen it).
So there is a long history behind the Otc and I was around for just about all of it. I even remember the day when the flowlab forums moved to discourse, the very website before you.
It felt like forever ago.
Lol, that’s alright. But you can’t really trust google translate. It tends to translate too well and doesn’t pick up on a language’s “slang” per se.
He plays all the parts in his skits, like you with the “clones”
Also, I spent 6-7 hours working on a mobile game the last 2 days that I just finished, so that’s fun
W. Whats it about. Dont spare details.
Have you ever played the board game Poetry for Neanderthals?
uuu. no. i dont think so…
It’s a weird name, but a super fun game, I recommend playing it some time
I do suppose whenever you’re there for a start of a community, it’s sort of sad to watch it drift away, or watch it grow and turn into something far, far different from what it originally was.
Haven’t witnessed much of that myself, but with a few selected communities I have.
The internet on paper is a place with many different strongholds; some bad like malware and dirty sites. However, in the good corners of it, people’s lives can change. Some for the better, some for the worse. ■■■■, some people become rich off of the internet! (Looking at you, Bezos.)
The internet is a wonderful thing, some sites have backstories and people with cult followings, like this very site. Some, will be forgotten after years of activity.
Nonetheless, the internet is beautiful.
lol ye ■■■■ is censored now. L
Just looked at it, seems fun! Me will try some time!
This is a must-watch. You Are Two - YouTube
Did the formats just stop being Flowlabian?
