Hello, so itā€™s been talked about a lot on discord and I think itā€™s time to start taking action.

The forums is a place I used to love, and still do, but way less.
It has become an off topic chat to many people which it should never be. Iā€™m not a mod so I can force these rules, and they shouldnā€™t even need to be forced, but Iā€™ll do my best to encourage it.

Rules

  1. The 20 Word minimum. This is here for a reason, if you are posting a reply under 20 characters, there is a good chance it is unhelpful to the topic and adds nothing of value
  2. Write properly. Itā€™s annoying people writing in all caps, itā€™s rarely good to do this. And please have decent grammar, doesnā€™t need to be perfect, but please try.
  3. Avoid use of large images. No need to reply to some with the image that says ā€œThanksā€, this is just an example. Donā€™t clog things up by an unneeded ā€œimage wallā€
  4. Stay in topic. Donā€™t go off topic and talk about nonsense. If you want to have an off topic discussion, please do so here. This is the main problem here.
  5. Treat people like people please. I know yā€™all love JR, Pixel, and all the jam winners, but they are normal people. They worked hard to win, but that doesnā€™t mean when an inactive person posts to say ā€œOMG I LOVEEE UUUUU, FAX LEGENDā€. Itā€™s honestly just annoying, would you faint on discord because they regularly chat there? Appreciate the games they make, but donā€™t be weird about it.

And quoting someone in a post and giving a one word response I still considered to be under the 20 word minimum.
If I notice anything being off topic I will flag the message as off topic and directly message you about it. The forums are a mess right now and it needs to change.

And they are often off topic. It is a deserve addition to the list. They sometimes try and sometimes do not.

Right, but they also have filled ourā€™s and otherā€™s topics with super small convos and replies with donā€™t contribute to much.

We do love and appreciate all of you, and we donā€™t like to be rude, we just need to take action bc the forums have gotten a lot worse in the past month, and everyone on the discord agrees with this.
