Wow, I just got it today and late yesterday. I was just outside for like 30 minutes and my throat tensed up, and my eyes started watering, it was terrible.

yeah, the smoke traveled down and the wildfires have just created more smoke and it has traveled to the midwest now.
I wear an N95 whenever I go out in smoke.
