I know the wolves in Minecraft are sentimental and helpful early game, but when you are geared up in full netherite, they just get in the way.
I like the idea of them having armor, which is quite a game changer, but I personally would love the building range. I hope it also works with breaking blocks as well, if it also works for combat, that would be pretty broken. Such as giving the player reach. If it’s only for placing blocks and not breaking, it would be very pointless if you accidentally place a block too far away and you can’t break it.
In most of my survival servers, I mostly focus on building super structures to compete with friends, so I think the crab would be beneficial for me.
It’s kind of disappointing that mojang is forcing us to choose when I would love to have both animals in the game.
Knowing our luck though, the penguin will end up winning even though it’s just vanity and contributes to no decent features to the game. Or any new features.

I agree, we’ve already found fast ways to travel over the seas without boats. I just like the wolves having armour because then I could finally build up my dog empire to destroy a friend as an act of revenge in a server. But at the same time, in another server a wolf killed my beloved sheep, Johnny. But I still want armour for pets because I’ve needed this for a long time.

The sad thing is, the mobs don’t give you exactly what they say. Sure Mojang explains it gives wolves armor, but they’ll probably make it such a grindy item such as the new netherite system.
They may have so you might need an ingredient from an armadillo and a netherite ingot or something just for a single wolf.
I feel the crab is probably gonna be some stupid rare ingredients just to craft the build range item as well.
Ever since they made netherite armor super difficult to obtain without hours of game play, I’ve been straying away from Minecraft because it’s just becoming a time trap.

I also heard they planned on only allowing villagers to offer specific enchantment books only if they’re in specific biomes. Which if this ever happens (if it hasn’t already) I probably won’t be playing Minecraft or at least any of the new versions.

It’s just not the same as playing entirely through survival though.
Plus when you’re on a server with a bunch of friends, similar to hermicraft, you can’t use creative or else the game isn’t fun.
Then again, I haven’t played creative for years. Mostly just survival. I’ll use creative to test different red stone farms before I make it in survival, but that’s about it.

I understand by what you mean when saying this. But saying needing an ingredient from an armadillo and then another material to make the armour would be nice. What I’m saying is, if you want iron armour for your wolf maybe you could combine an Iron ingot with armadillo material to make a single iron wolf armour. But agree, it is indeed stupid that they dont tell us the whole mechanic about a new mob.

Half-surprise in the worst way possible

The downside is that not many of my friends play with mods. I thought of starting a modded play through just for myself since netherite will be the least of my worries, but a lot of the good mods are for Minecraft 1.10 and lower. (Most of the time)

Agreeable. I don’t know what version you mainly play Java or Bedrock but you could always search for mods on Forge for Java mods or look at MCPEDL or MCADDONS for bedrock mods.

If it was like that, such as a horse armor tiers, then I think it would work pretty good. I at least hope the wolf armor will be in tiers like iron, gold and diamond, but with a armadillo husk, it’ll probably just be a single tier.

I play on Java.
I’ve played with mods before and a dragon ball Z mod with some friends, but they messed up the leveling system and became literal gods in survival so I gave up.

Oh, I play on Bedrock. I had played Java sometimes but can’t seem to switch fully on. If you’re a fan of any exploration games like Legend Of Zelda or Pikmin (According to my researches you might not mostly be a fan of Pikmin) there’s a lot of mods focusing on that stuff.
Those types of mods might as well be my favorite because I like seeing my favorite survival game fused with Pikmin (or other exploration games).
Another thing about mods you could look at are ones that add in new mobs. These mods seem pretty exciting to me since I love seeing new enemies to fight with new abilities. Especially… Bosses. New bosses from mods add in excitement to Minecraft a ton. Since you are a java player I highly suggest Modular Bosses as there is a lot of bosses to choose from and all are exciting to battle.
Nevermind, apparently the amazing Modular Bosses mod was discontinued.

I’m voting based upon what features are oldest and least improved upon. The aquatic zones are much, much more developed Than the savannahs, which haven’t been modified within an update since release. Building is constantly being upgraded and, at least in my opinion, overfocused upon, so I don’t particularly feel any obligation to vote for even more building improvements. The main point is that pets have not been added to since the jungle update nearly ten years ago, and dogs haven’t been since release. Plus, penguins would just improve… boats. In essence, you’re already missing half the game if you don’t build near an ocean, and the land could use some freshening up.
Honestly though, I agree with CaptainSparklez (yes I know I’m old) in his belief that the game would just be objectively better if all three were added.
