I do know that the Covid test wasn’t 100% reliable since there were people getting tested positive and didn’t show any symptoms at all. At least a friend of my Grandpa had their dad in a nursing home who tested positive and he never looked better.

I do know that hospitals were writing people off as covid even if they just had a common cold or flu, because I think they got a compensations check from the government for every case that was presented. I heard rumors that people would die in cad accidents, but they would write them off as having covid prior to driving.

Now I could be wrong on this, this was what I was being told, but when I went to the hospital to check for covid, I wasn’t even tested and they immediately assumed I had covid. Which I do believe it was, since I had the worst sore throat I’ve had since I got my tonsils removed and I couldn’t eat for a week, but I never did get tested to prove if it was covid or not.

This was one reason I don’t trust hospitals at all, another was that I’m always having skin problems and every hospital and even a dermatologist I went to, wrote me some dumb prescription that wasn’t even for what I had.

I have an ER friend who loved the covid tests because they were being paid by people to tell them they were fine, because even if they had covid it just meant they got more money and didn’t have to do anything serious medically.

I’m considered a vulnerable individual, as I have significant medical issues. I got it once and it sucked, the second time I barely noticed. If I got it after that I simply mistook it for the common cold.

Flowlab Chapter 7

A sense of fear gripped the soldier as the figure plunged towards the ground, thousands of feet below. He could not understand the vision, the Woman, the one he had followed over the mountain range that all thought marked the end of the world, had just jumped off a cliff. He resisted the urge to rub his eyes and make the vision vanish. He needed to find the meaning of this vision, for there must be one.

All of the sudden, the figure stopped, but his attention was rivetted on something else, as he looked, reality seemed to crack. A small tear appeared under the woman, and she plunged in. From his position, he could barely make out what had happened. The woman was gone, she had just fallen into the void, the crack in existence that had somehow formed the moment before she hit the ground. Then the crack slowly closed, leaving no trace behind.

What did this mean? Why? Where is she? The questions flooded his head as he tried to comprehend what he had just seen. Was this what he had climbed over the edge of known existence for? He stood there for a good ten minutes before coming to a decision, he would descend the face of the mountain and continue of his mission. It was too late to turn back now.

He climbed until late into the afternoon, the sun was past the halfway point and the sky was beginning to take on a slightly orange-red color. He had been climbing for hours, only taking small rests along the way. He looked down, the decent seemed just as long as it had been when he had started. He looked up, the top of the mountain was only ten meters away. What was happening? He scrambled down another meter, nothing changed. He tried again, nothing.

Was he going mad?

What was he to do? How could he get down to the massive, circular structure? Then a thought struck him, what if he jumped? That was what the woman had done after all. Then he saw something at the bottom of the valley. A figure The Woman! She was waving, then turned away, walked towards the hollow portal-like mountain, and disappeared. She was still here! Jumping MUST be the right way, it HAD to be. He was trapped, with nothing left to do. With a massive effort, he pushed the fear of dying away. He had no other choice.

But first, he had to eat. His stomach was rumbling sounding, for all the world, like an angry bear. He sat down and opened his pack, removing a set of dried rations and a Cantine of water. He had six-days of provisions left.

After a quick meal, he stood. He knew what he had to do. He took a few steps back, until his heel touched the hard gray stone of the mountain, and jumped.
