So would it be kind of wrong to make a top-down Metroidvania? I’d really like this game to be like that.

I have always wanted to do that, i remember long, long ago (like more than 3 years ago) there was a topdown metroid vania about a cricket, its first area was a place called splintertown, it was called crickit vania. i remember when i first found out about crickit vainia i would make mockups of it, sadly i didnt have a account when i made those, so they arent saved, i remember that crickitvania was cancled and was converted to cold eyes, a top down horror game
Im pretty sure the user who made crickitvania is now inactive, i have always want to remake crickitvania

Yes you could make a top down metroidvania, im pretty sure zelda links awakening is a metroidvainia, and that games top down
