what on earth are those blood particles…

this just screams “ALMOST stolen assets”
i’m okay with my work being used for original work, but this just offends me

I saw the player, and immediately thought, “GEOMETRY DASH?”

I’m wondering
“how do you steal a red blob?”

The player looks like a default from geo dash

you understand he’s trying to basically copy off of Eldabyss and Coalescence correct
“oh but the character is original” > nearly every other aspect is taken
yall can like hi4250five but as far as i know all his “good work” is trying to grab off someone else’s canvas

I haven’t played either so I can’t really compare them. Do you think you could make a list of what he’s copying and stuff?

he literally advertently states he’s trying to “mesh” mine and pug’s styles so i wouldn’t doubt it’d be easy

Yes, I understand that and the character is a CUBE of course it’s original, but the gameplay is probably simliar or the exact same as one or both of the games mentioned (In platformer form).

I was looking through the various posts you had mentioned or showed content over Eldabyss 2 and what I saw for Coalescence and I can’t exactly find anything that was straight up raw copied.

hi4250five did specifically mention that it his game was based around your’s and pugs’ art style, but I didn’t see anything that was taken directly from anyone’s game.
The concept of adding gore and blood particles isn’t exactly new, since many games before yours have done the same. Plus, when someone takes inspiration from one of your projects your games, it’s typically meant as a compliment than an insult. Their coding skill may not be on par with yours so their games or projects probably won’t hold up to your own expectations, but that shouldn’t mean it’s insulting to you or pug, but it’s just a learning experience for them.

I don’t want to fuel the fire or whatever if there was conflict before hand over this, but from what I saw, I didn’t see anything wrong in hi4250five position for he even credited you and pugs’ work for his inspiration, so it wasn’t like he was trying to steal your work.

I’ll admit, I added damage particles to enemies after I saw concepts being shown of Eldabyss 2 and Coalescence, but since my project is more cube (isometric) based, the particles are just cubes, but it’s supposed to display blood or damage. I never really thought to mention who I got inspiration from since the idea was turned into a completely different style than what you had used. Although the original idea came from the game Ultrakill.

You also have to remember, a lot of projects that people make on here don’t typically evolve to be sold for their own benefit, a lot of projects are created to help individuals practice more on different art styles and to further their coding knowledge.

Now I don’t agree with users directly stealing or trying to steal art or themes from other users, but in this case, I didn’t see anything that was directly stolen. Plus, the blood particles were much larger in hi4250five than from the others. I didn’t get very in depth if the particles were directly copied from any game, or just the assumption that they looked too similar, so I can’t entirely speak my mind over this. I don’t own Eldabyss 2 or have played it, but I looked through the devlog on here and I looked through the Coalescence devlog as well, but it was generally a more Blue color pallet from what I saw, so I don’t remember if any sprites were copied or stolen, I would be happy to retract this statement if proven, since it’s probably easier for you to find sprites that you made than it would be for me.

Sorry, I find it hard to spell that.

I personally don’t like being taken inspiration from in any way. I feel like it puts me on a fake pedestal, the inspiration is often very surface level too so it feels like my work is devalued to just the basics in a way.
