I’m assuming Phasmophobia, I never played it personally, because my friends had bought it and ever since they updated it, they kind of lost interest. Since the new update had reset their progress and had a level up tier system for better items, so you basically have to grind for it. As a party game though, it still looks enjoyable, but I’ve been watching people play Demonologist and it’s basically the same game, but the map actually changes based on your progression and what words you say.
I have yet to play Battle Bit, but I saw a video of it and it looks super fun, I may consider it.
Demonologist has a lot less content and is significantly less replayable. It’s by no means a bad game, but there’s no way it’ll outlast Phasmo. And at least from my experience, the “grind” is extremely minimal and very well done. In less than ten successful rounds you can have all the starter gear and it only takes one to five more rounds to get upgrades. If you don’t want to lose progress once you’ve unlocked the gear and just blast all the ghosts with high tier gear indefinitely there’s an option for that, but personally I love the risk/reward and dynamic challenge of new gear.
It’s kind of broken because of the new updates, so the Ghost ball no longer works and the lightning ball for some reason, teleports in an area outside of the bouncing area, sometimes teleporting in, but rarely.
So It’ll need some work, but considering this is an old game, it’s not much of a priority, but now that the achievement behaviors and updated leaderboard is a thing, I may consider reviving this project. Plus, it’s one of the only games I have that features a proper saving feature. I wanted to add more replay ability to the game since it’s kind of buy ■■■■■ until your computer crashes.
I have never played it on my PC so it ran really smooth and was able to play the sounds properly. On my macbook, it would actually freeze up when sound effects were enabled, so it’s defaulted to mute, and my phone for some reason wouldn’t register the sound half the time, but it does work on mobile from what I remember.
I just found a recording of one of my first animations from last year. It was a trailer I had made for one of my stories. And since I’ve lost the original and hadn’t seen in it almost forever, I watched it.
And OH MY GOD, it was AWFUL. The animation was so choppy and just…really bad. But it was still nice to look at, but I cringed so hard and I am NEVER showing it to anyone or I’ll probably die of embarrasment.
