theres lore behind the graphics, one of the terminal entries says that v1 lowers his render graphics to save v1’s storage and allow him to do better at combat, the only machine in game that sees in 4k is the sentries

The game embraces the old gen first person graphics and does a really well job at it. I’m pretty sure it’s intentional to stick with a cartoony and fictional setting, while also making it dark.
I know you’re used to recent games such as Halo Infinite which is made to look as realistic as possible, but some developers choose the style to best fit their game.

no, they dont look low polly cannonically, its just how the machines see the world of ultrakill, also the terminals are sentient and they are the one who keep track of v1 style, the terminals watch the machines fight and give them points based off of how stylishly they fight because the sentries are bored,
