When you play top-down shooters/bullet games, do you like the combat to be separated into levels/rooms where the camera snaps to and zooms out? Or do you prefer a maze of random enemies you have to wander through?
The only pro about the maze is that it would be easier to hide easter eggs while increasing the difficulty a bit, but I feel having designated rooms where the camera snaps to and zooms out would be more beneficial.
The only reason I was kind of leaning more towards a room system was because in my game, Refraction, sometimes it’s hard to see enemies when traveling up and down. By the time an enemy loads in, you don’t have hardly any time to react.
So, I may end up doing a combination of both, since I need some sort of zoom out feature to see enemies better.
Alright, after tomorrow, I’ll be starting Spring Break, I’m going to try to put a lot more work into this game and try to get a demo out, or if possible, the full game.
Also, I was hoping to get this game featured, but apparently it already is, lol.
It was kind of broken and I managed to get above a 3 or something during the Flowjam rating so I got honorable mention. Felt kind of bad since two of my worst projects managed to get featured, but I’m trying to update them.
