Using Keyboard Inputs to take Alternate Paths in a Level?

Got another question regarding gameplay:

Would it be possible to use keyboard inputs to take alternate paths in a level?
I’m hoping to achieve something similar to how walking up and down stairs was handled in the Castlevania games, except with cars.

you could check if the player is walking while pressing something like W and it could move a collidable stair case to the position and if the player presses S it would move the stair case away so you could walk through it
