So you made a near 1 to 1 copy of the sprite with the exact same color palette by pure chance? Is that what you’re saying? That the single sprite in your game that is developed also happens to match the sprite of another game perfectly?
I’m sorry to drill into you like this, but it kinda seems like you’re lying.
Nothing wrong with copying as long as you ask permission or if it’s clear it’s a placeholder. And even copying it isn’t reason to “hate” you at all. What I dislike more is lying about it. It’s alright, just try not to do it again unless you make it clear that it won’t be staying less you actually got permission
you know honestly, it’s such a small and tiny sprite that I wouldn’t even care lol. People actually steal others’s character art all the time for small scale projects - I’ve seen countless examples on itch.io.
The only time issues really come up is if you start copying everything, like, if you also started copying the walls, and the backgrounds, especially the music, all that.
Lastly, pixel art is really not as hard as it seems! You just have to understand light sources and use a color palette, and after that you’re already spriting like the games that hit top 10 in the flowjams. Don’t be afraid to try it yourself .
A massive amount of coding, also finishing the fundamentals
Art:
HP bar
Enemy (Follower)
This update was quite fun to make. Kade (@kade), recommended a Mega-Man-like HP bar. I made a few broken wires around the edges for aesthetics and shaded it all. I think it looks pretty good!
For the enemy, I gave them a Red file-sword and a breaking animation. When the follower enemy gets hit 4 times, it turns good, but you can still get stabbed! I could’ve made it different, but it seemed realistic to be able to be hurt, so I kept it.
If you hit the converted Followers again, they’ll die, just don’t practice, lol.
