What should I work on next?

I am at a tipping point right now. I finally have cleared enough time to work on a game every day, but I have no idea what to work on. Right now, I am torn between three things:

Option 1:
Work on an update for Hide. I am not sure if anyone is still interested in this game. Let me know if you are.

Option 2:
Continue development for Ace Vanguard 2. The game as I intended it to be is complete save for some boss revamping. I have no idea what I will do beyond that though, if anything. Any ideas?

Option 3:
Add another chapter to Ya Need Milk. If you have not played this game, I highly recommend it. It is very short so I am wondering if anyone wants to see more of it.

Let me know in poll.

Where should I go from here?
  • Hide
  • Ace Vanguard 2
  • Ya Need Milk

I appreciate the offer but I have trouble in group projects. Unless you guys are super organized with a clear goal in mind I’m not sure I would be any help.

Also, you might know Hide because that game was my Flowjam entry

I haven’t played any of these games, but my recommendation is * almost always* update old games. The only way to make a name for yourself in such a huge consumer market of games is dedication. Phasmophobia, Minecraft, No Man’s Sky and Project Zomboid are all solid testaments to this.

They are all old games. I am wondering which game you want to see expanded. I would recommend playing all of them because they are super short, so it will not take you too long.

While in most situations you’d be right, I disagree here. A flowlab game can’t really be compared to big AAA games like No Man’s Sky which have been in development for years, but I would definitely agree is DarkStar hadn’t already started working on a new game. Flowlab isn’t a “huge consumer market”. It’s a good way to start your development journey, but the market doesn’t come in to play until after you’ve exported your game. At this point I’d say that updating those old games should wait until you finish developing Ace Vanguard 2, considering development has already started. After you finish that you can relax, and maybe update some old games.

I see your point. I’ve done most of the heavy lifting for AV2 anyway so I guess I’ll be back here soon!

@meburningslime It seems like Hide got second in the poll so I will work on it after I have finished Ace Vanguard. Is there anything you want to see in particular?

Let me play it a bit more so I can provide better feedback.
