The original sprite editor was a light theme. When it got updated, it became way better but it is always in dark mode. I think there should be a toggle that makes at least the background grid turn light so that editing or making dark sprites is easier.
I and many others use dark colours frequently in our games, notably Stone Cold Steel and Eldabyss, which I can think of off the top of my head. I believe the grid background being lighter could help a lot of people.
First image attached is the old sprite editor, and the second image attached is the new one so you can compare the colors.

My picture is there!!!
Also Nordic works as a light theme but the grid doesn’t turn black so it’s kinda hard to see it
Unless you mean ONLY for the sprite editor

I mean ONLY the sprite editor. And unlike the existing theme switching, doing this shouldn’t have to refresh the page or even the window. It should just change the background color and nothing else. The grid will follow because it is already transparent

Us guys ALWAYS use light mode

It’s just a matter of preference. I personally enjoy a darker atmosphere, so I prefer dark mode usually. Since I sometimes have my lights off when my computer is running, it can be a bit straining if you do have light mode on.

I think at least we should be able to lighten the grid like a toggle so we can see dark sprites way better

I was making a joke when deadly_smile “for you maybe” in response to hanboaboa saying “ur eyes will be gone”
If I had to deal with a light theme I’d end up messing up all of my sprites because of how bright it is
