Wasn’t Battlefield 1 released in 2015? Oh nvm it was released in 2016. DOOM Eternal, I’d know that better than anybody else on here probably, its GOATed (acronym for Greatest of All Time for those who don’t know).
You can kinda stop now, AAA games are expensive so I don’t own that many of them, especially ones made after 2015 like in this argument. The only AAA titles I get for sure usually are Halo, Mortal Kombat, and Marvel games (particularly Spider-Man). Because of that, I can’t think of many examples of those 5% of “good AAA games made after 2015” off the top of my head simply because I don’t have them, aside from Spider-Man PS4 and God of War 2018, which I was able to instantly recognize for this argument because I got both games in 2021 when I got my PS5, because I was excited for both when they first released in 2018, but couldn’t play them because I only had a PS3 and Xbox One at the time and both those games were new PlayStation exclusives.
So I’m sorry for forgetting about my new favorite FPS, DOOM, and my BFF’s favorite Armored Core 6, because I have neither. I only got to play and enjoy DOOM Eternal with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate btw (they had a $1 for 1 month sale a couple years ago so I got all the DOOM games and played them with it). Most of my anti-AAA game attitude comes from my firsthand, secondhand, and maybe also thirdhand experience with 343 Industries and the downfall of my all-time favorite game series, Halo. The rest of it comes from more recent learnings and secondhand experiences from other AAA companies that are similarly bad or failing, such as EA and Nintendo. Also, the only Assasin’s Creed game I have is Unity, which sucks. But I got it for free in 2015 when my dad bought the Xbox One, so I’m not complaining. I think the last good AC game was Odyssey in 2017, but I couldn’t play it since I was too young back then.
I think Square Enix is AAA, but NieR Automata is still good. @ManiacPumpkin I recommend NieR: Automata to you for its story since you like games with good ones of those. It has won much praise from fans and critics, and is still popular today. I got a used GOTY edition for like 40 bucks so it shouldn’t cost that much either.
