Cardy Demo - Card Game Battle

Remember the post and the topic below?

It is literally a screenshot of the game I will talk about today and it is, Cardy.

Cardy is a turn-based card game, where characters in your cards get on the Stage and start fighting each other, including the player. Each card has different static and passive (or not), create variants and strategy to have chances to get involved in the game. Right now, there’re only 3 bots and they’re for beginners and will be offline games. Also, the setting (card) button in the menu does nothing for now so, don’t mind it.

Just to let y’all know, I don’t usually update this game so it won’t be any new for days, even weeks. If you feel like there’s any bug in the game, post it right in this topic to let me know. Enjoy.

Recently, I was thinking of something like: “What if instead the player can draw 5 cards/time with 2 times to draw a card and be allowed to remove a specific card in the current deck. When draw card, it will automatically remove all the card that are NOT on the stage, leaving space for the new 5 cards, and the current will end only when both players are clicked “End”/5min after the first player clicked “End”. All the cards fight at the same time until all the cards of one side are destroyed, then the new turn begins with an automatic draw card of 5. The side with the remaining card(s) will deal DMG to the player on the other side with this formula: (Total DMG+Total HP of ALL the remaining card(s)/2). When the new turn begins, the one with the remaining card(s) can only draw 1 more time while the one who loses all the cards on their last turn is allowed to draw twice. The game will keep going on until someone has less than 1 True HP.”
Summary the new gameplay I want to change: Game begins → each auto have card 5 cards & allowed to draw 2 more times, but can remove their current cards on their desk by either delete it by hand OR click draw card → Add: auto end both player’s turn 5min later after the first player clicked “End” → card(s) on both sides fight to dead → Attack the one who lose all their cards on the stage by: (All card’s total DMG+All card’s total HP/2), then start new turn → The side with remaining card gain 1 time draw card, the other gain 2 → Continue unil a player’s HP less than 1.

The reason for this idea is I feel like it’s a lil bit unfair to the red side when the blue side has a chance to slap on the red side to deal true dmg to them on very first time of the game.

this is fun actually although some text is hard to make out or layered incorrectly.
I think you should outline the text in the game, and also a lot of your menu stuff is broken, i ended up going into the editor and moving myself into a game because it took me to a blank level

  • Text: i’m still trying to improve at it, and I will give the outline a try.
  • Button: you actually need to drag them at the left, white rectangle to move on to start/setting/credit section.
  • Blank level: I forgot to change the Level behavior :sweat_smile:

Btw, thanks a lot for giving feedback for this game. I don’t have a game tester so I’m only post it and note for everyone knows that this is a demo to prevent some misunderstood.

lol i think the buttons are cool but the text that tells you how to use them is covered by something (last time i played, at least.)

i did figure them out though and it’s a really fun way to do things.

i also got stuck in the settings menu and had to reload bc i didn’t have a way to exit it

Wait, you didn’t see the text that said something like “Click X to comeback”? I remember that I already put it there.

Again, thank you so much for giving me some feedback for the game. About all the bugs you found today, it should be fixed already.

ah, that was hidden underneath something by accident i think. and i also suggest making it an onscreen button for consistency

When battling if I draw my 1 card and save it for the next round then draw again, it stacks them in the same place

Yeah, I planned to fix it long ago. But I don’t really have time to do that so it’s still there. Thanks for feedback tho.

Alr, I touched grass for too long, it’s time to doom myself again

SO, I had been taking some lessons in python coding courses recently, and now I finally have some free time and ideas for this game, here’s what changed!

  1. Added 2 brand NEW cards: Ninja & Crow (see their skills and stats info by over your cursor on the cards, hint: they can dodge DMG!)
  2. Remake turn-based system for more “fair play” combat with the bot so it won’t feel that much of discrimination (hopefully).
  3. Poison, Burn and Heal can now counter each other! Insta-heal turn off Burn immediately. Poison will be slowly countered by stack healing (heal over time each turn).

Bonus leaks: I planning to add a card that can erase very negative effects (first usable skill) on itself and deal DMG based on its current HP, and it’s also gonna be the first EPIC card with skill system to spice up the battle even more (and a few more slow healing card that both Uncommon and Rare card)

That’s it! Not much, I know, but there will definitely more stuffs in the future (with shop and gambling area, which won’t affect much but a good, old, classic and respect mini game you might seen before in other games), so yeah, stay tune! Hope y’all enjoy this game’s update!
