I don’t really know him but @PixelPizza seems like a really cool guy and he definitely deserved the win
I hate how @GrimProdutionZ said it, but I have to admit I agree. It seems unfair that this is a graphics contest, and there are no points for actual gameplay, creativity or storyline.
I will say this now,
1. This Flowjam is over, the winners will not change no matter what you think of the event.
2. This was done by votes, everyone who participated had 1 vote.
– You have to make a game for the event to vote, keeps duplicate accounts down.
3. There will be more Flowjams, maybe within the year.
– Rumors are that we may have another around Summer time. key word is “rumors”.
My thoughts:
Any of the top winners had an equal chance to win, All representing feats of Flowlab that we weren’t sure that could be done. TONIGHT has the beast art style and gameplay with no bugs or glitches. This is the first successful full scale implementation of a rythem game. I’ve had more ideas on a rythem game myself but I yet to attempt to make one.
As for my game, yes there is more gameplay and there is good art but it was very incomplete. Actually, when the games were locked for voting, I really messed up and no one could experience most of the game. This was very much part of my mistakes.
But my respects to @PixelPizza on winning the Jam and looking forward to the next jam.
I’m still looking forward for winning next Jam and I’ve learned from my mistakes,
You’ve been warned. :naughty:
I understand all that you said, and i even agree, but it seems like a popularity contsst now.
Don’t tell me that someome would’ve won if noone knew them
I dont fully agree @meburningslime, most contestants (/voters) were in the Discord made for this event and we all went back and forth between games and were able to get their games noticed.
I know what @meburningslime means. Not to be a bad loser, because @PixelPizza I have no anger or jelousy towards you, but imagine an epic medieval tale with a long storyline and epic game mechanics but the game which was very simple with little story but is funny, it becomes more popular because its comidic elements and might unrightfully win.
I actually get what you mean. A lot.
Why is discord necessary to play flowlab? I have been licked out of so many groups or not allowed to join because of discord.
Yea thats exactly what i mean @“The Kodex” . I’m not saying that @PixelPizza s game isn’t good, it just would rank very low in the Averaged Categories displayed on the flowjam page. Because of that, I would rank AT LEAST 4 other games above it, not including my games, which don’t much better according to grazer.
\(?)/
You can’t say what will happen in a popular vote, but definitely isn’t a blame on the creator for sure. Whats more important is that the voters were other creators in the contest.
This was also Grazers first big jam and I can imagine their will be more changes compared to the this one so its always worth trying to see what comes out.
@meburningslime,
Discord isn’t necessary to use Flowlab. Its just a seperate server that Grazer controls and is more active he made for Flowjam (and is still open).
Also the old Discord for Flowlab was recently remade and controlled by me now. I’m always looking for more active members.
Ok, im not blaming grazer for any of this. I guess that is how it sounds, sorry. I am just saying it’s not an objective flowjam, and I am sorry for how it sounded.
Ok i just got discord now what lol
Oh no @meburningslime, I’m just inferring that Grazer may have different rules in the next jam. I’m mostly stating that all the voters were other contestants, so I don’t blame anyone for what the popular vote was.
I didn’t see you in Discord; I’ll put both here.
Then just chat and enjoy:
