Well depending on if you want to make a UI object or separate level, in your case, you can always just do a separate level. Whenever you run out of health or lives, just go to the next level, and choose the game over screen as that level. Just have a black background with the words game over, then have a timer in 5 seconds teleport you back to the main menu
