I-frames and knockback upon damage

im trying to make it so that if the player takes damage, he gets knocked back and is invincible for a second or 2. how would i do that?

where specifically do you use them?

Here, I think this should work, it works in both top down and 2d games.
Just go into the character object.
Note, I made this a while ago so there might be a few bugs.
