Step 1. Is to find a pallette you like
Flowlab has quite a few built in pellettes, find some that you like

Step 2. Try and avoid mixels, mixels are when you use different pixel sizes on the same sprite

Step 3. learn some basic human anatomy then try and alter it until you get something you like

Step 4.Find a style of art(in this case pixel art) that you like!
