In-game Subtitles guide step-to-step

HOW TO PUT SUBTITLES IN A GAME??
Probably you already know how to do but this is a guide anyway so OK.

Step 1:
subtitles block:

add a big (dark is better) block where we will add behaviors

Step 2:
alpha logic:

add 2 inputs (mailboxes in the example) and a label. Inputs send 2 (inputs): if the input is "show sbtitles the block alpha and the òabel alpha will be setted on 100%, if the input is "hide subtitles the alpha will be 0. (note: better to set alpha on 0 once).

Step 3:
text in the list

add a “text list” object and write in it the subtitles in order, or use a “list modify” block to add em during the game.

Step 4:
use the text list

add the input "next subtitle (another mailbox block in the example) to add 1 to a number, trought another (value 1) number block and then connect it with the “one” list input.

Step 5:
send the text list

connect the “one” list output with the “text” label input

done.

Added “start”, “pause” and “delay” inputs!!

New inputs:

• START
  Now the subtitles switch is automated, so if you activate this input a timer, and at the end of this timer the next subtitle will be outputted.

• PAUSE
  Pause the timer, so maybe if the player clicks on a button, the timer will be paused, and the subtitle will be paused too. So the player can read it will calm.

• DELAY
  The delay input will change the timer durate.
  The default value is 20 th/seconds (so 2 seconds).

New outputs:

• DONE
  This output is actived when ALL the text in the list is outputted.

• NEXT
  This will the outputted when ONLY ONE text line is outputted.

All inputs:

• DELAY
  The delay input will change the timer durate.

All outputs:

• ALPHA
  Outputs the object alpha (0 if is invisible, 100 if is visible)

• NEXT
  Activated when a single text line is outputted from the “text” output

• TEXT
  Outputs the subtitle text. At the end of the list, will output nothing.

• DONE
  Activated when the list outputs the last item

• ONE
  The actual subtitle string number. (for example, if the game is outputting the 3rd text line of the list, this output’s value will be 3).
