Is it a good idea to put .anm and .reanim files into flow lab?

For example, peashooter from PvZ and it’s reanim file

Not sure but flowlab doesn’t (to my knowledge) support those file types; basicaly any files you upload will be either sprites (in jpeg or png or gif format) or some kind of text version of a file that you’ll have to write your own parser for.

Imagine having so many sprites to assemble what would you do?

If you have a lot of sprites, maybe convert them to a gif (using something like ezgif.com) and then upload that gif to get all of the sprites uploaded at once

How does that work?

Like animating the same sprites :unamused:

Looking into it further, .anm files seem to just be animation data, so I don’t think you’ll be able to use them in flowlab at all (they apparently are mostly used in Blender?)
And to use a .reanim file you would probably have to find some way to convert the images to png’s; there is no way I know of the actually import animation data into flowlab

How do you explain this? .reanim to . Gif

That’s a Gif so you can upload it to flowlab just fine

The problem is how was this gif made?

Hmm? I have no way of knowing that. Probably some kind of .reanim to Gif converter?

I tried searching for a reanim gif converter but it shows no results

It looks like .reanim is a file type specific to PvZ, right? Maybe try asking some members of that community how to convert it

Flowlab doesn’t support files other than jpeg, png, and gif.
If you want to put something into flowlab, then you need to convert it into one of those file types.
If its animated, you should upload a gif in the sprite editor.

Can you tell me a way to convert .reanim to gif?

.reanim is a made up file type used specifically for plant vs zombies.
That games saves resources by splitting the monsters into a many parts and the reanim file puts those parts together and animate them.

You will have to ask that community for a way to get the animations into gif.
Or find someone who has turn them into a sprite sheet.

You could try finding green screened animations of the PvZ characters on YouTube, copy the video link, pasting it into Yout.com and downloading them as MP4 files, then use CloudConvert.com to convert the MP4s into GIFs that you can then import into Flowlab.

When you have the GIFs imported into Flowlab, you can remove the background by switching to pixel size 4 and erasing a bit of the green background, then using the eyedropper/color picker tool in the sprite editor on the erased spot to select a transparent color, and then lastly use the bucket/fill tool on the green background to erase the whole thing at once. You can quickly do this for every frame once you have the fill tool selected with the transparent color by clicking on the background and pressing the right arrow key to easily navigate to each frame, click its background away too, and repeat.

An optional step in between downloading the videos and converting them to GIFs is that you can use a no-watermark video editor like Clipchamp (which is built into Windows, or CapCut if you’re on mobile) to crop the videos before you convert them to GIFs.

No I was looking for a way to convert animation files

You can record yourself playing the game, remove the background, then turn the mp4 into a gif
