you would have to find the original artist and either ask them if it’s ok or credit them

Itch.io is a better source for sprites because you can get similar-looking sprites for free and it is easier to credit the artist.
An even better alternative is to create the sprites yourself. While they may not be great now, it’s best to not need others for everything if you can learn to do it.
