Label Update Requests

We all know (including grazer) that labels need an update. Here are the important things:
Colour changing
Blending
Angled text
Option to make labels not be shared (each object of that type has their very own label).
More special characters
Different layers for text (so stuff can be in front of it)
Size changing

Thanks for this list, and I’m curious what other change requests people have in mind.

Regarding your list specifically:

  • I’m not sure that shared labels even need to be an option? I think that each object should get it’s own copy of its label. The shared labels came about as an optimization, because originally they were static and did not move.

  • The text is ASCII-only because they are not actually fonts, but a packed texture atlas, similar to this:
