LEGO Builds (Flowlab public Forum)

hmmm yes yes i seeee

This is my entry for a figbarf contest someone is hosting on Instagram. Not the best design and could be better, but I liked the idea of swapping the villain and hero role. Since I primarily have Star war figures, I designs this with what I had.

I can hear the Yoda death sound lmao

I may retake the pictures without the backdrop because the lighting was against me on this. Plus you can see Darth Yoda’s torso very well.

I upgraded Spider-Man Prime and made his torso look more like G1 Optimus Prime. I also built a new LEGO Transformer that turns into a car and looks like an X-Men character (nothing to do with the real X-Men Transformer, Ultimate X-Spanse though).

It’s sad to say, but my original metroplex figure has been demolished for future projects. He was probably the second or third best figure I had ever made.

But the new project is an even larger and more detailed metroplex. Here is the left part of the torso with the left upper arm. This one will be more g1 accurate and will scale better with my other figures.

I’ve been currently working on the right part of the torso and wish to have his entire upper body done soon.

:skull:
Idk if even my new X-Men-ish LEGO Transformer is like that…

Here’s some progress images.

I got some more work on the torso and I got the garage unit finished alongside the middle part of the torso. I would have finished the entire torso, but there’s still a huge back segment I need to add to pop up extra buildings when in city mode.
I included g1 huffer for scale, but also to show that smaller autobots can fit in the garage. I believe some legend class figures could actually fit in there as well, but I’m not sure, it’s a pretty small compartment.

Sorry for the poor images. My desk had a drink that perspired all over the surface so I had to take pictures elsewhere.

Summary

Here are more progress images on Metroplex. And the images should be better in proper lighting.

How’s the Metroplex going? Is it’s building dormant?

My studio/bedroom is currently being reorganized so I haven’t had much time to work on him at all.

Oh, ok.

I am re-organizing my entire house, minus a few rooms.

I have two Lego builds I would like to share. (I dearly hope this isn’t dead already, lol.)

Kind of forgot about this.

Anyway, I got some motivation to get some progress done on G1 Metroplex.
I redid the shoulders several different times until I found a joint system that worked.
I also added the rockets on the torso since I forgot about them.

3D print Metroplex vs. LEGO Metroplex who would win

Metroplex is just one of my favorite characters so that’s why I was attempting to 3d Print him.

In terms of Materials, Lego is ABS which is much stronger than PLA, but my 3D print is much, larger than the Lego version. Since my Lego Moc is only compatible with the mini transformers that I designed, and the PLA is made to fit an entire deluxe figure in the garage compartment.
Since both figures are incomplete, I can’t really say. Also, not sure why to battle since it’s the same character.

I saw a YouTube video that someone posted 4 years ago and I got inspired to build my own G1 Blaster. I thought it would take several hours, but I got him completed in just an hour and a half. Took a minute to find a solid design, but I think it looks great despite the scale.
Probably one of the best designs I’ve seen for the mini scale. He’s even smaller than my SoundWave which I need to rebuild.
I just realized that the robot mode looks like a redemptor Dreadnought from war hammer 40k, but oh well, lol.

(Also, one reason why one arms a dark gray and the other a lighter gray, is because it’s supposed to be the lighter gray, but out of my 2 million bricks, I only had one)

That’s really cool! I’d be interested in how the inside looks…
