@JUSTPLAINOP can make new space, I don’t think it’s fair for a 50-50 split just because you have game space

I don’t have any game space. I’m not paying for indie because I’m not on here to sell games (Not Yet).

You can create an alternate account to gain an extra game.

And personally, I don’t feel there is any major advantage to indie users vs free users.

Reasoning

Indie users can use over 50 objects, but there are 14 days for this jam. You’re not creating hollow knight in that time, you’re creating the original Mario (just an example).
I know I am one of the best coders, but by no means do I consider myself the best game developers here.

The reason indie users create better games is that they are better Devs. There are 3 points to making a good Dev. Coding, Ideas, Art.

Coding: If you can’t code something, you can’t make it.

Ideas: You can be great at coding, but if you’re just remaking Mario and don’t know the fundamentals of making a fun game no one will like it.

Art: Being able to make a game look good is one of the main appeals. An ugly game goes further than just looks, it makes people hold the game to a higher standard.

You’ll eventually learn that the more you code, the less you need. Having 50 objects is just less effective than 1 object with a tile set.

So even if I were to enter this, there is a good chance I’d stay under 50 objects and 5 levels. Because you need to think about what type of game can you make within a jam.

So in conclusion Indie developers make better games because they are better. After using flowlab long enough to be good (a couple of months for some, years for others), users will probably want to make a bigger game, so they get indie.

Indie doesn’t make you better, you make indie worth it.

Yes! Exactly my thoughts(except that I didn’t get it because I wanted to make a bigger game, it was just by chance) but there are always some exceptions to this rule… Like a certain sock named individual, and that there are some really good non indie users too. But this is a general rule. Indie doesn’t make you, you make indie worth it.

Hello, I do think this will be pushed as I haven’t received word from Grazer- and I’m thinking that they are busy planning the FlowJam for Summer. I will update when I can.

I apologize for the lack of updates on this- I haven’t received any updates from Grazer, and I won’t send a follow up until after the American holiday in case this is the reason for their inactivity.
Thank you all for your patience.

I have decided, I will join all of this year’s FlowJams. Both Official and Unofficial.

I will return to this after the end of the summer jam, as the announcement was made would conflict with this. Good luck to everyone in the FlowJam.

@lonesable, the FlowJam is over. I will now participate in your jam. When does it start and when is the deadline?
