I’m not sure why that happens, but I do understand the problem. Basically, you need to decrease the grid space on the actual image. So click on your guy, go to “edit”.
Click on the button with blue arrows pointing in all four directions and move him to the top left corner. Finally, click on the button next to it and decrease the height and width sliders slowly until you realize that if you decrease it any longer, it’ll overlap your guy and delete part of him.
