Passing the Torch (kind of)
If you remember my recent announcements, I’ve expressed quite subtly my exhaustion, but now I’m going to go ahead and be blunt: I am tired of directing Eldabyss (individual game), and have been for several months. However, I do not plan to drop my role as the director of the Franchise, and I do not plan to give up my role as the Founder of Fleshed Out Interactive.
That being said, since I’m unable to mentally withstand continuing art direction on Eldabyss at the moment, after some discussion last night and today, I have decided that I will more or less be passing the lead of that game’s development to @Owen_Machine, our co-developer.
What does that mean?
Well, in a sense, nothing drastic. The game’s direction will hardly differ from our original intent, but any and all creative approaches for the rest of that game’s development will most likely be declared by Owen instead of myself. That means you can likely expect more announcements coming from him and more development logs curated by him.
What will you be doing?
As for myself, I will still work on the game, just not in the same way I did before. I’m creatively exhausted when it comes to that game, so it’s less likely I’ll spend time brainstorming and more rather just going with ideas thrown about by the rest of the team. I will still be an artist, animator, programmer, composer, and writer, just like I was before, but not much that’s purely original and spit out from my head.
That said… I plan to truly begin work on a brand new project on the side… a loose sequel, if you’ll call it that.
Because just as quickly as he was defeated again by the same hands, another heart began to beat into life.
