Pixel Sports - A Game Where Sports And Cubes Meet!

Small hotfixes have been deployed.

  • You can no longer score from behind both goals
  • The soccer ball and hockey puck must be entirely in the red goal radius for the Red cube to throw a shield bomb
  • There is no change to that behavior of the bomb ball

i needsss helppee

I have made a small hotfix to Pixel Sports that fixed a bug where sports balls would not drop from the game starter.

Beta 1.4.1 is finally here. Yes, it has been a long time since the last update, I have been working on other projects lately.

  • Changed how the boss music plays during the Final Boss Battle
  • Stability improvements

A new outfit is available for purchase called “MetaNinja.” It is pretty much a cube version of my profile picture.

I like it!

LEMME GET INTO DAT VAULT!

@“LippyDippy”, I’m glad you like the game so far!

I am not sure if anyone found the vault yet. Nobody has said anything about it in this discussion.

Lol. Is there some sort of code to the vault IF you find the vault?

Sort of. If you take a look at each of the screenshots in this discussion showcasing the final boss, you may see a hidden message. That will allow you to enter the vault. Inside the vault should give you riddles that allow you to go further into the vault and eventually fight the final boss. Unless you are good at riddle solving, this could take a few weeks.

Beta 1.4.2 is here!

  • Changed the textures for the ice turf and dirt (in the hockey stages)
  • Added Shadow Turf and Dirt
  • Changed the background of the Death stages and the Boss stage
  • Added a purple horizon to the Boss stage, the Death stages, and the Final Boss stage
  • More detail in the Upgrade Room

Beta 1.4.3 is here (wow, and so fast too!)

  • Added a tip system in the stage select screens
  • Added Elite Husk Cubes
  • These variants of the Husks are faster than their weaker versions
  • Added death animation for the husks
  • Increased the speed of the Hero Cube

Nice! Next time I play it will be a treat!

Leaderboards update: Clicking on the XP Display in the game select screen takes you to the league hall. For now, the league hall does nothing useful, but in the future, it will allow you to receive emeralds at the cost of diamonds. The emerald count that you receive will depend on your league.

I am having trouble considering what emeralds should be used for. Any ideas, @“seamothmaster45”, @“The Kodex”, and @“LippyDippy”?

@Superstargames Maybe Emeralds can be used to unlock levels of a new game mode campain, which acts like a storymode. The More emeralds you gather, the more levels you unlock. And then boss levels on the campain require rubies, which you get from killing other bosses that are not in campain.

This was just off the top of my head. You don’t have to use this just an idea

@“The Kodex”, Campaign Mode sounds like a nice idea. Pixel Sports already has a story (that requires some searches for secrets), but that doesn’t matter. The only problem is that emeralds are VERY rare in Pixel Sports, and it takes 100 diamonds just to get 5 emeralds from the treasure room (which is kind of accurate to real life: emeralds are 20 times rarer than diamonds, and thus more expensive). I think the campaign system in Pixel Sports would work like this:
Similar to how you put it, the campaign allows you to go through a series of levels. Although instead of emeralds, you use diamonds to unlock newer levels. The boss stages, though, will require emeralds.
Also, just to clarify, at this point in Pixel Sports, I currently have no plans to add any other currency, such as rubies. I may add rubies in the future, but probably after Pixel Sports gets exported.

I am still open for any more uses for emeralds. Just remember, emeralds are VERY rare in Pixel Sports, so their uses must be useful and must be beneficial.

@Superstargames As I was reading this, I instantly thought the same thing; Emerals could take the place of the rubies because they are so rare and Dimaonds unlock the campain level. I agree, what you put above is a great Idea.

Another thing you could use emeralds for is unlovking “Legendary weapons.” Have, like, 15 or 20. The first 5 cost one emerald, the next 5 cost Two, the next 5 Three emerald, and the next after that cost Five emeralds. Or something like that.

@“The Kodex”, that also sounds like a good idea. Although in Pixel Sports, the use of weapons is a bit extreme. Sure, the Hero Cube carries a giant sword, but nonetheless, the world of Pixel Sports is intended to be a little peaceful (even though there are husks and a shadow boss roaming around, with the threat of a crazy god-like figure wanting to destroy the universe). I think instead, they should be replaced by something called “Hero Abilities.” I’ll have them work similar to your “Legendary Weapons,” but they are a little different. A few abilities that I came up with include:

  • Chain Lightning: A bolt of electricity jumps between the Red Cube, the ball, the bomb balls, and husks, if there are any. The lightning stuns the Red Cubes, sends the sports balls and bomb balls flying towards the goal, and destroys any husks it comes across. The lightning gets weaker with each jump, eventually disappearing after 6 jumps.
  • Mega Mortar: Sets up a temporary Mortar in the playing field. The mechanics of the mortar will work like the one found in my Companion Example. (yes, I know the character AIs are broken, I’ll fix them later)
  • Clone: Creates 3 Blue Cube clones that behave similar to the Red Cubes. However, if they bump into a Red Cube, they stun it. Husks that get hit by the Blue Clones are also stunned. Elite Husks are demoted to Standard Husks if hit by a clone.

I am still open for any more uses for emeralds. Just remember, emeralds are VERY rare in Pixel Sports, so their uses must be useful and must be beneficial.

Oh, and I have not made any changes to Pixel Sports yet. That might wait until Friday, depending on if I get any changes made quickly.

Sounds good so far! Pixel Sports have come such a long way since it debuted on flowlab!
