Surprisingly, that was a very fun game. I only ever played it a few times, but its a very unique platformer. Other than the few default sprites that were used, it was pretty coolio.

Alright, Flowlab seems to be working again for me - but at least I got to some script writing in the meantime! I’ve been testing out several ideas so far, and I think I’ve got a good one now:)

SOL - PRE-ALPHA 0.1 UPDATE

Mostly bug fixes and gameplay changes, with some special FX:

  1. Fixed the bug where the player object would play the run animation after a speed attack.
  2. Added sound FX to the air dash x-axis.
  3. Made it so you could speed attack whenever you want.
  4. Made a smear effect for speed attacking.
  5. Continued work on game script.
  6. Updated some of the enemy detection system.
  7. Updated speed attack sound FX.
  8. Can speed attack in air, but less controllable than regular air dashing.
  9. Added jump particles.
  10. Added coyote jump particles and their directions.

There’s currently an issue where enemies will sometimes die when near the player during a speed attack, but not in the raycast region. Not sure why this happens, but currently looking into it.

Got something for ya’ guys today… Summer’s just about here:D

  1. Fixed an issue where the run animation would play after speed attacking.
  2. Added more FX to the speed attack system.
  3. Added a health system.
  4. Developed a custom health bar.
  5. Animations and FX for health are completed.
  6. Started work on enemy combat system.
  7. Tweaked the air attack system.
  8. New sound FX for attacking.
  9. Added screen shake to the combat system.
  10. Tweaked screen shake system and emphasized speed attack screen shake.

Going to soon get to enemy health bars and their combat systems.

Just gonna say, the combat is in it’s best state it’s ever been… Feels VERY smooth and dramatic.
