What would suggest to make it more obvious? The main point of the game is to have no tutorials (as the majority of retro or arcade games are like), but I understand that this part of the game can be easily missed. If you have a quick suggestion, I might be able to do it in the last hour and a half lol
BOWE’S ARCADE 100% PLAYTHROUGH - ALL ENDINGS + SECRETS
Made a 15 minute video showing a playthrough of Bowe’s Arcade for a couple of reasons - the main on being NitroKart '02. It’s a difficult game, but only mainly due to there not being a lot of information about it. You’ll hopefully see how you can easily pass the level through the video.
I also included all the endings + a small secret I put in for anyone who wanted to find new things they couldn’t when playing it in the moment. I highly suggest only seeing the video after you finished the game or if you are stuck at a certain part.
Thank you all for you support during Bowe’s development, and good luck with your personal projects!
i hope you are happy now
Wow. Just wow. This game is phenomenal! I just got both endings and somehow the good ending left me feeling almost more creeped out than the bad ending, but it was still amazing. I absolutely loved the FNAF feel it had to it. Also, those minigames were awesome! I must admit, I spent many minutes in Hippity trying to wait for the perfect opportunity to run across (and then ultimately get squashed right before I got past the cars). And that Nitro Kart? I spent at least 30 minutes trying to beat that game even AFTER I learned about the hitbox trick. But it was a fun 30 minutes, just frustrating enough to make me determined to beat it and fun enough that I didn’t want to stop. And I honestly cannot believe that you made this during the same two weeks in which I made my jam game. You literally made 4 different games, plus multiple endings, cutscenes, secrets, and embedded lore, and STILL finished with 4 days to spare? I was working on mine until quite literally the last minute and I still didn’t even finish. This game had me completely sucked into it (which, after playing the game, is a terrifying thought) and I loved every second. So, thank you very much for making this wonderful game!
got the good ending right away. just had to find 4 coins around arcade games
Thank you for this amazing compliment, it means so much to me you enjoyed it that much!
And the good ending is my favorite @fighting_game - gives a bit more lore to the player at the end:D
oh yeah i already figured out half the lore. im guessing this guy got pulled into an arcade machine and trapped the rest of his families should inside the 4 machines. (the 4th one being bowes machine since the black matches the one) or the machines resemble the deaths im still figuring things out. you are a person- always a different one for every game as the flowjam suggests. and you can free bowe i think for the good ending? kinda hard
at least i think thats how it is
Kinda right, kinda not. You’re almost there about the family thing, but the good ending means something completely different lol
And you play the same character during the entire playthrough, btw
oh so its michael afton-ish
I’ve seen people refer to it like that, but it’s not exactly the same since Blue “infects” Yellow while in Fantasy Quest. Anyways, that’s all you’ll get out of me until the next game that’s in the universe XD
FNaF secuerity breach is a great example of comics in video games
SOL, AND THE FUTURE OF PLYMOUTH ENTERTAINMENT
Hello everyone. If you are following the Plymouth Entertainment Discord server, you may already know the current state of SOL’s development and future. I think it’s about time I tell you what is happening, here, on Flowlab. SOL is moving it’s development home to the Unity Engine, already in development over the past 2 weeks.
You may have some questions about this.
Will I be still working on Flowlab? Yes, I will be. Mainly on the Bowe’s game series, so potentially I will be working in game jams as well. I’ll also continue working on external projects, such as D.O.M. and Wilder’s Creation 2.
What about the SOL demo? It has been discontinued, but will - at some point - be released as a sort of proof of concept. I haven’t touched it too much of late, but I plan to smooth out some edges of the current state, but will ultimately be unfinished even as a demo.
What is the future of SOL? Other than being on the Unity engine, it will take a little longer due to having to rebuild the core movement and environmental systems. The goal is to finish rebuilding what I have on Flowlab by the time I have to go to college. It has already gotten a number of revisions, as I am adding a color pallet, rebuilding sprites and animations, and revitalizing the core gameplay loops with the new addition to the SOL project, the projects programmer, Fol.
I would like to thank all of you for supporting the development of SOL from it’s birth to where it is now. You can continue to support the project through the Ply-Ent Discord, which if you haven’t joined already, you can here: Ply-Ent Discord. I would like to thank these people, in particular, for their fantastic and ongoing support from the Flowlab community:
@Greggo @hihilogic @ManiacPumpkin @HuckleBerry @glowbug @Ramshackle
There may be others, but these are the people I could think from the top of my head. Thank you. Especially you @grazer , for making this site to let me grow in game development, design, art, and so on. I’ll still use Flowlab and continue to support it. Don’t know what I’d be doing without Flowlab.
I’ll post information on other project’s here as well, as long as they are Flowlab related. Thank you, once again, once before, and another after.
-cregerBot, Plymouth Entertainment
Thanks for keeping us updated!
I already knew because I’m in the discord, but I’m really happy that you told everyone here too. I totally support your decision and wish you the best of luck. Thank you for the memories rcreger and I’ll see you around!
NEW MUSIC TRACK
Figured I would post this. This track is NOT free, and will be used in a Ply-Ent project.
Desolate (Plymouth Entertainment; Theme; Foreboding; Cinematic)
Enjoy:)
THE LAST SOL - PRE-ALPHA POST
Since SOL is being moved to Unity, it’s only fair I only show Flowlab developed content of the SOL build. I’ve concluded that since most time and resources is being put into the Unity build of SOL, I made a short video to show the visuals of SOL. It does not showcase much in mechanics, story, characters, and so on - those will be saved for the Unity build previews.
Without further ado - the last post for the Flowlab build of SOL.
For more SOL updates, and for smaller games (which will be likely developed on Flowlab), subscribe to the cregerBot channel. It will have more frequent SOL updates than the forums.
If you want a more in-depth overview of what I am doing, join the Ply-Ent Discord for more concept art, updates, and previews! Ply-Ent Games
Thank you all for your unending support! It’s what has got me here from back in 2019… But we still have a long journey ahead to get to the light. More updates!
This looks it could be one of those random 2D side-scrolling indie games on Xbox Game Pass
yep, kinda like the hollow knight,i LOVED that game and still do!
Hollow Knight is a big inspiration for the 2D elements of the game and it’s characters - the story is more influenced by Remedy’s games and tads of Stephen King. A little bit of Robert Frost and Poe, too lol
just, when your done, send us the the link!
