SB-NW update log

Recently Starblast NW became quite fun when i added diagonal shooting. So i am introducing new mechanics here…

I think im going to cancel it in a week: i went to a site and asked for some people to offer to beta test. And it didn’t get anything. So i took some time to think about it- and im done with it unless something happens between now and next Saturday. Its dead, discussion closed

I was going to make a starblast 3D via gamemaker studio

Im adding the UFO from SB original. It works exactly like last time… It travels at the same speed as the orange rocket but only works one axis at a time… (It goes up/down and then left/right)

Glad that new mechanic is working out for you. Your game is coming along nicely. Have you considered adding super enemies? Give an enemy a rare random chance of playing a shiny or different color animation, and give it more health, speed, or different traits, when that animation plays, to throw in a wildcard, and bigger challenge.

Added the saucer. Doubled the spawn rate of enemies in arcade mode. And completely randomized spawning.

Edit: holy crap this update ramped up the heat! Those saucers will tear you up

I was going to make a saucer that dodges the bullets but i remebered… proximity doesn’t pick up on emitted objects
@grazer plz fix that

instead of having a dodging enemy, it orbits and shoots at you… they look identical to normal saucers

I’d love it to be fixed. Temporarily, make and attach a 3x3 block with no solid, but has collision. Make it circle. Alpha 0. Collision with laser bottom, collision left, collision right, collision top, connect to messages to send the saucer to move away the opposite direction. It will act as a large invisible barrier like a proximity hitbox.

Could also make it flash, and break after some shots, like an overshield, then you can shoot the saucer.

Just added it. First ship to 250 wins!

I added some particle effects so when a enemy gets shot it makes an explosion sound effect and particles fly

Also because the game board isn’t wiped clean, players in multiplayer mode get 3 seconds of invincibility

Made the lasers vary in color, now i gotta make some glowing effects
