Im going to use gamemaker for this… flowlab cant make 3D games
Ive been working with gamemaker studio. I was thinking of having the camera set in the direct middle of the game, but the camera rolls to face the ship…
That way the whole “3D” thing comes into prespective
Hey @grazer
Even though this would take god knows how long to make, maybe you should look into making a 3D game engine, basically have everything, but the velocity and similar nodes have an added “z” dimension…
Also there would be making models and rotation on another axis
Currently there isn’t even an option to zoom in or out in a 2D game, although I would really like that, now that I think about it.
For now im messing with fake 3D
I added another parallax and also changed the main background from 50 to 30
If you make 3D models in Blender or something, you can make 3D sprites from them.
3D would be cool for neon wars, especially if you have a seperate 3D mode.
Maybe If i did a 3D mode i could make a panorama for the background
you are now able to correctly travel diagonally… also now with epilepsy ship trails!
@grazer Heres a problem with the emit.
What it currently is:
Heres what it needs to be:
All emits have that problem. Some are even off like a few pixels above or below. It’s really annoying.
oh yeah! i noticed it but i didnt think of it as a bug… while making sams sp. attack i tried to make him summon two waves on each side. but it was too far away and a bit too below. it wasnt movable, force 0 and 1…
@grazer
Plz fix…
Force 0 should be directly on top of/under the object, 1 towards forward and -1 away from forward
Which trail should i use
i made a exclusive rig for my game, shooting with the mouse…
press Z. however @grazer the match rotation is off but when the ship turns, it matches rotation anyway. please fix that
nevermind i am having problems with it
EDIT: i got some equations wrong. it works, but because of the rotation problem it wont work if you move
EDIT 2: i made a rig to counteract it mostly
I added white cores and a multiplier mechanic, so scores can be higher.
they look like glowing white circles
Added a hilariously fun new mechanic called “bomb shots”
Theres these red cores that sometimes spawn in the game board, they vanish quicker than the multiplier cores that enemies drop, but still… fly into/by the core to get a bomb shot, press space to deploy it into the direction you are facing and watch the light show! (May not kill things behind you)
Best used when deployed into a group of enemies
