Sonic 3, the best classic sonic game ever

QUICK QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: What was your first sonic game?

the original. it was at the orthodontist in the waiting room. my sister and my brother had braces. I was 7.
then it was sonic mania, and now Sonic x Shadow gens. I have speed highway, rooftop run, and city escape stuck in my head. it’s also the first sonic game I’ve actually beaten.
My first Sonic game was Sonic 2 on the Xbox 360. I was 5 at the time. (For reference, I’ll be 17 on the 19th of this month.) I started out watching my dad beat the game. Stayed up all night, watching him play the game. And once I picked it up myself, I couldn’t get past Chemical Plant ACT 2 without freaking out about that one drowning section.
Sonic 2 remains one of my favorite classic games to this day, and I use its level formula when I do level design.
