This isn’t all this funny. Because if a person goes against the law then they would be able to steal a car. Unless thats not the funny part?

It’s kind of difficult to really steal a car and then be able to legally use it afterwards. You wouldn’t be able to sell it properly unless you sell it through some under the table trade if the buyer plans on using it as a custom or for parts, because every vehicle is traced with a VIN number and without the original title, it’s very difficult to get the vehicle in your name or be able to sell it without a title.

Unless you sell the vehicle overseas to a country that has different or limited vehicle laws, you won’t have much luck. Plus, with all of these newer vehicles and the computers in them, they can be traced very easily.

So, I’m assuming the point of the meme is basically sarcasm referring to a concept were stealing shouldn’t happen because it is legal, not directly accounting on the fact that it actually does happen. Even if a car was unlocked, you can’t really steal it since it’s near impossible to hotwire the car unless it’s an older model, because of the anti-theft systems. Except if the vehicle is a push start, since the keyfob only has to be within a certain proximity, depending on the system.
