Why isnt my character able to move backwards or to the left?

I had tried to adjust movements so they are mobile compatible but I can only get the character to move forward or to the right. Is there something I’m doing wrong with the movements here?

that would be dragging on the x axis (horizontal) to move left, and y axis (vertical) to move right

I moved the other one to y axis but now he doesn’t move at all ,I don’t know why. I keep unchecking snap to grid and it keeps rechecking that. How do I fix this?
