First Day of School
Himura Yoko, a young schoolgirl, arrives at her school early in the morning. Like most schools in Cyber-Japan, it’s a tall, futuristic building. Unlike most schools in the Cyber-verse, this was a school for unusual individuals who were talented in Sparking.
A kind of magic, Sparking consisted of pulling particles from the sun and using them in self defense, creating colored sparks of light. But Yoko wanted to prove that Sparking could be used to defend the Sparking School or SS from other schools, which were constantly attacking, and to respond with an attack of their own.
On her first day of school, Yoko is caught in an attack between SS and Samurai Academy, and attempts to use her untrained powers to defend herself, and then to attack. She succeeds however, and the SA students eventually run from her and a teacher who also attacks with Sparking.
The second day, she and the teacher form an attacking group, and launch a raid on SA. They win, carrying back some equipment that will be helpful to the school’s defense.
Weeks go by, and suddenly a powerful Sparker attacks the school. Yoko has gone out on several battles and her magic is sufficiently stronger. The school sends her out with two others; Dorin Umber, and Adachi Ariel.
During the battle, the attacking man reveals himself as a Dark Sparker, one who no longer pulls his magic from the sun but from the moon. This, and the element of surprise, explains why he attacked at night.
The three students defeat the Dark Sparker, but not without an injury to Umber.
Ariel and Yoko set out to find a healing antidote for his magic-derived wound.
As they travel across the Cyber-verse, they encounter many rival students and battle them. Friendly students direct them towards a specific flower that has healing properties.
They return and heal Umber, and together they upgrade the SS, Sparking School, until it’s the best in the Cyber-verse.
