yeah, spatial dimensions and world dimensions are completely different things
it is incredibly frustrating when i have to repeat what i’ve said a million times. just scroll up & read,i know you can do it.
thanks but don’t expect too much from this game’s graphics i’m trash at sprite editing. also i think shading looks better with the tree sprites
just leave,please
No offence, but the name is confusing more people than just Galactian.
I like the game you are making though! I can’t wait untill its done!
to try and help people, here are some rules for this topic so that conversations are more civil :
1.) don’t expect too much graphics or content-wise. i have goals for the content but they might not be reached bc i’m too lazy lol. just expect a terrible-looking game where you can go through the 7 dimensions
2.) if you’re going to be repetitively negative, please leave!
3.) if you ignore rule 2, at least have new criticisms. like idk criticise the story. hong_jooni_pooni criticised the sprites and that’s new!
4.) if you ignore rule 3, don’t continuously return to this topic to make the same criticisms and act like i didnt already explain them
5.) please be nice and respectful! even if you ignore the above rules, at least keep your tone respectful when you bring up an old or new criticisms!
6.) i have no more ideas lol
Thanks! I’m trying to make the game as best as i can (with my not-that-great coding abilities & the behaviour handbook lol)
Hey @LMTPE Can I join the team?
I will consider it!
i’m not trying to be negative i’m just saying what you are making is considered a 3d game with 4 world dimensions
I think he gets that, or whatever, let him do what he wants, it’s HIS game, so let him do as he pleases, if the game may not make sense just ignore it and move on, since these arguments are pointless.
he comes off hostile if you question him for trying to make something 7d
and it’s not exactly clear if he’s making something either;
- 3d with 4 world dimensions
- 2d with 7 world dimensions
- 7d, which is mathematically impossible
and he kind of shames you for criticizing him; which, unfortunately, is something many gamedevs need
do i? i didnt know it seemed that way
oh yeah also the reason i come off hostile is because of how many times i’ve explained it & gotten into small arguments because of it. i have a short temper but now i’ve recognised that i should try to be nicer & try to keep a civil conversation in this
sorry for not making it clear enough! i’m trying to use the graphics to make a 3D illusion and then add 4D mechanics. so 4 spacial dimensions! 5, 6 & 7D are based on the concept of temporal dimensions. for example if you’ve ever heard someone say that the 4th dimension is time, this is where that comes from. so the 5th temporal dimension is what could possibly happen from the current moment, 6D is what could’ve happened but now cant happen and 7D is entirely alternate universes.
i hope this makes the dimensions of the game clear!
i heard you the first 10 times, you don’t need to keep saying if you find any new things to criticise you can come back here and criticise what you’ve found. i’m open to new criticism! sorry if this comes off rude or passive-aggresive btw i’m trying to be as nice as possible
i logged into the account i use for 7D wanderer and instinctively clicked on the forums. i’m not planning to do anything here just post this bc i found it funny lol
What exactly is a temporal dimension?
Basically a dimension to do with time. I can send a yt video that explains temporal dimensions 4 to 10 if u want
Using some criticism about the graphics, i slightly (don’t get your hopes up too high) improved the radioactive ghost sprites. When I created the ghosts, I had a great vision that ended up with trash sprites. But now I’ve made them 3D and tweaked their design a bit to make them a bit like a cyclops, they look way better.
okay so what i’m gathering:
2d game, uses 3d graphics to illusion the player, then has mechanics of a 4D game, and 5-6-7D are all dimensions in relation to time; almost like sonic cd in a sense
this is very clear then i see
i don’t doubt you could pull this off then, i would suggest you get an artist for this stuff, maybe even a modeler - SOTN used 3d models for illusions and effects and even sprite replacements often, and Doom used scanned clay models for it’s rotational “3d” enemy sprites - unrelated but a great example of a game that does that kind of stuff
