Think of it. The stairs are seen from a side-angle, so is the player. But the rest of the level is flat, seen from a top-angle. That is why the stairs don’t fit very well.

but they aren’t? the stairs are at a 3:4 perspective.

eh, in my opinion it’s pretty easy to see that the flat parts are also at a 3:4 perspective because of the perspective of the non-background/wall sprites.

Well, I haven’t played the game, so I don’t know what most of the level looks like. I was just guessing from the perspective of the most recent short that you sent.

Grappling Hook

Hi, I’ve started working on the Grappling Hook and Punch, two of the main movement mechanics of the game.
Grappling Hook
Currently the Grappling hook can only do a basic Grapple towards walls and enemies, although I plan on you being able to do a Grapple Spin move where you basically spin around the attached object if you start holding grapple just after you latch onto an object. The punch is currently unfinished but I’m planning on letting you parry with it and having it knock you back in the opposite direction while maintaining and increasing momentum if you hit something. I’m also planning on having the player be able to do certain other moves by combining grapples, regular punches and charge punches in different ways.
