Well it is a video game after all, I was going to add gears but that sounds a little too much
That’s not really a game per say, it’s just a tech demo B)
Hey, I mean I wouldn’t mind Forza: Flowlab Edition, just saying
Woah, no way! I had no idea you were in the forums @Bmarzi ! You make really good games and art!
Thanks, I’m definitely going to be messing around with sprite stacking.
I added a simple gear system, when you get enough speed you can press space bar to upshift, there are 3 gears, each one that lets you go to a certain max speed
I also made double tapping shift be the brake button instead of space
this is bringing the OGs back haha
Anyone have art tips with sprite stacking?
I’m finding it confusing to make a car with this-
Only things I’ve done with it so far are cubes, circles, and a turret.
I can’t really help, I just did it on instinct
Yeah, you have them primitive-art instincts.
Yes I do
Added a stun mechanic when you run into a wall too fast, with a fun little effect of birds flying over your head
I finally mastered the art for sprite stacking (my art still sucks, I just understand how to make things now)
It’s AAALLLIIIVVVEEE! And ugly.
Can anyone breakdown how this formula works? I’m too old and dumb to understand so please speak plainly…
@DinoDev nice work, the artwork is not as bad, try adding an outline to polish it off.
Its Haxe code in the expression
Does A = 0?
True: outputs 1
False: outputs A
This is just so that you never get 0
Thank you for making me understand some of the flowlab expression mechanics. I’ve been dying to know them forever
I have a full list of expression code in my bundle library
Flowlab Game Creator - Bundle Library
Ik. I’ve bookmarked your library because I found it really helpful. I was skeptical at first, but it actually taught me some cool stuff
