CubeTales 3: Flames Of Destruction Devlog

That’s right, CubeTales 3 is here!

Right now, it’s just the menus and tutorial that function, but feel free to test out the controls and give me feedback!

(obviously it’s in very early alpha, it’s only existed for a day)

A few tips:

  • Cuby is much more nimble in the air than on the ground
  • The air dash/dodge will carry momentum until you press a directional input or touch the ground
  • all moves can be chained together
  • Use the environment to your advantage

try pressing shift midair, this should make you air dash in the direction you are facing

it’s pretty simple, especially with the new label update
just make a box that has a name, then make it display level + name (to make level 1…etc)
and then attach label

I used a much more primitive method, but that works too
(I had made the menus before i realized about the label update)

Pretty much the whole game
Look at all the sprites except the background because that doesn’t have to have the same pixel size.

I don’t see mixels, they all use the smallest brush size (apart from the backgrounds)

also while ur here, can u update the description with the controls?

A & D to move left/right
W to jump/double jump/wall jump
S to downward attack
SHIFT to roll(if grounded) or dash(if airborne) in the direction you are facing
M to return to main menu

Bruh the big pixel sprites in level 1

Ok I’ll update the description. Can you send the link and show me how you made the menu fonts? I really like it and plan on using it to make the new series logo. I’m also making a new game page background on Canva at the moment.

Are u talking about the blue blocks? i used the rectangle tool for those that’s why

Oh. If you want blocks with screws in the smallest pixel size, use less pixels for the screws. Like how I did here in The GAME 420:


Ignore the blue streaks in the middle of the block, that’s irrelevant to CT.

Added labels to the map menu that tell you which level you are going into, plus levels only show once you’ve beaten the previous level
