Does Anyone know how to make a fortnite top down shooter?

???

I know a little how to make it…

if you have no idea where to start to make a game, you are obviously not at the level of skill to make it yet

This is not true. You can start as a noob but the only way to learn (Other than reading all of the boring Example pages) is to build a game. I started Vehicle Battlefield knowing near to nothing and I made constant updates until it’s how it is now. I’ve learned a lot from building the game.

Let’s start from the beginning (I’ve only played Fortnite once in my life, XD).

Are you planning on making different maps for the player to play on?

Is it going to be an Online Multiplayer game?

Is there going to be character selection?

If no one else will help you, I’d be happy to. You need to think about absolutely everything before starting the main parts of the game.

By the way, who on Flowlab has played Fortnite?

me and john

It seems like a top down fortnite replica would be extremely hard to make though, i support Galactians advice and maybe try making a simpler game to hone your skills more before starting a more advanced project than this would be.

Me too!
also, i agree with galactian since fortnite has some pretty complex systems like the inventory and and storm circle.

I agree with galactian, and sort of disagree with Ember (justplainop). making that will be extremely hard for a beginner. If you want to make an online multiplayer, Flowlab is probably not the place to make it. Multiplayer is still a glitchy and challenging area of flowlab. Even the experienced people will have trouble with it, and it’s safe to say that a 2d mmo on flowlab will be impossible to make.

@JUSTPLAINOP yes, ofc you can start as a beginner, we all did, but taking on a project of this size for learning only is a very bad idea. (Not to mention this idea is impossible) also you are still a beginner too! Vehicle battlefield is a simple game that could use many improvements.

Oh, yeah. I don’t remember much about Fortnite. If it’s as complex as you guys say, @MisticGoat should try a simpler game first.

Yes, I made it as a simple, fun, game. If any of you have any update ideas that would improve it, I’ll add them. (The game will never stop being updated.)
This is off topic, maybe try a little simpler type of game, (MisticGoat).

Yeah, Most of you guys are right. Making Fortnite replica can be a struggle.
So maybe there could be another game I can make that’s close to Fortnite replica and not as complicated.

How about a Fortnite emote simulator? Or another Fortnite fangame that isn’t quite the battle royale everyone knows it as? The possibilities are limitless. Optimus Prime hits the griddy “It’s time to roll out!”

Actually, Your right. Making a game like that wouldn’t be that hard.
probably making a top down game with biomes and a gun is not hard

I mean just make a fortnite themed game that’s easy because I assume you like Fortnite. Making a Fortnite replica would still be hard. Think before you decide to invest your free time into a new game.

yeah.
just 3d and multiplayer are impossible.

Yeah, Flowlab isn’t an engine capable of creating very good 3D or multiplayer games.

actually flowlab does have indie-only multiplayer, it’s just not very good

3d is sort of possible, just requires some raycasts and a ton of complex set up

yes, I know about both of these, but it would not be able to create fortnite.

You could create a sprite stacked fortnite character in a top down game, but it would require a lot of math and/or code and animations

I’m working on a game with sprite stacking, I can tell you, it’s ridiculously complex.

not that complexe lol.
It’s do able.
